Saying Goodbye to Dr Padilla, Saying Hi to new staff members

2017 is well under way and with a new year comes new changes.

We are sad to announce the passing of Nurse Triskit.  Triskit came to Hazel Ridge as a kitten in 2004.  In the beginning she enjoyed sitting on the front counter watching the sparrows make their nests in the spring.  As she got older, her favorite activity was staying in the back treatment room supervising and monitoring the staff’s work.  She loved to visit with the rabbits, hamsters and rats that came to the back treatment room.    Fresh laundry straight from the dryer was heaven to her.

We also wanted to say goodbye to one of our veterinarians Dr. Kim Padilla. She will be leaving the practice for the recently expanded Northpointe Veterinary Hospital in Yuba City. She will be a real asset to the veterinary staff at Northpointe Veterinary Hospital and Yolo County animals are very fortunate to have Dr. Padilla providing emergency care. Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic is very thankful for the care and service she has been able to provide to all the patients she has seen over the last few years. We are sad to see her go but we wish her the best.

Mat at the front desk has not left the practice but is currently pursuing expanding his skills and experience in other facets of veterinary medicine. He is still working a few days a week at the front desk and is still available to assist with your pet’s needs to the best of his abilities including pet insurance claims and questions.

As we say goodbye to Dr. Padilla we want to give a big warm welcome to a few new faces to the Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic Staff:

Dr. Karl Vance will be coming on as our new DVM. He graduated from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and was previously practicing at Country Oak Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Vance has been well versed in routine and emergency care. His surgery skills include but are not limited to, most soft tissue surgeries, routine spay/neuter, pyometras, c-sections, GI foreign body removal, entropions, vulvoplasty, dental care, c-sections gastro/enterotomies etc. Dr. Vance is a current member of both AVMA and CVMA.

At front desk reception we have Crista. Crista brings a friendly smile, energetic personality, and several years of veterinary experience. She is well versed in our veterinary practice software and represents our practice standards and values in assisting with your pet’s veterinary needs. Along with Dr. Vance she also came to us from Country Oak Veterinary Hospital.

Kaye has actually been with us now since the fall of last year, she came to us from the Folsom City Zoo and Sanctuary. Chances are if you’ve come in on a Saturday you’ve already met Kaye who is part of regular Saturday staff in the front desk reception area. Kaye is friendly and compassionate. She is anxious to help you and your pet with scheduling, prescription request and any general information needs.

And last but not least we have Annie, who was already on our staff as a kennel assistant and is now one of veterinarian assistants. Annie has recently graduated from Sacramento State University last winter and now has interest in becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Annie is a quick learner, enthusiastic, compassionate, truly enjoys caring for your pets and assisting them with their veterinary care.
