The Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic staff
Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic staff includes four full-time veterinarians and licensed, experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to provide the best quality nursing care. Our office personnel are experienced in veterinary services. Our entire staff frequently attends continuing education courses to keep up with the constant changes and improvements in veterinary medicine. Additionally, we keep abreast of current availability of quality training, grooming and boarding facilities and are happy to provide you with a referral.

Drs. Marsha Birdsall and Chuck Harris have been partners in practice since 1992.

Dr. Marsha BirdsallDr. Marsha Birdsall graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. She has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Sacramento Area since then, and has been a partner at Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic since 1988. Marsha is very active in the local community, working with the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce. She is past-President of the Sacramento Valley Veterinary Medical Association and past Chair of the House of Delegates of the California Veterinary Medical Association. Her special interests are general medicine reproduction

                          and geriatric medicine. 

Dr. Chuck HarrisDr. Chuck Harris graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After completing an internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois, he returned to California where he has been in private practice ever since. He became a partner at Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic in 1992. In addition to general surgery and medicine, Chuck's special interest is oncology.

 

Dr. Rebecca HarrodDr. Rebecca Harrod graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Her senior year, she was presented the Gentle Doctor Award by her classmates for compassion toward animals and clients. She completed an externship at the Marin Humane Society prior to graduation and joined Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic as a full-time associate in June, 2001. Rebecca is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Her special interest is general medicine with an emphasis in feline medicine.

 

Dr. Kristin Reiser

Dr. Kristin Reiser graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  Kristin worked as a veterinary assistant at Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic throughout veterinary school and joined the veterinary team in July 2005.  She feels it really helps her to already know many of our clients and patients.  While in veterinary school, Kristin volunteered and provided free veterinary care to low income families and stray animals in the Sacramento community through organizations such as the Mercer Homeless Clinic and Fix Our Ferals.  Her senior year, she was awarded the Nestle Purina Morris Scholarship for outstanding clinical competency and

                         for her interest in small animal nutrition.  Kristin enjoys working with all dogs, cats and 

                         exotics, and her special interests are internal medicine and surgery.

                         Dr. Louisa Asseo graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of     Veterinary  Medicine in 2002. Before graduating she completed an extended externship in reptile and exotic medicine with Dr. Douglas Mader in Florida. Her special interests are in reptile, avian, and small mammal medicine and surgery. She is a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians.
